Train journeys to and from Dorset are being offered at cheaper prices in a bid to encourage more people to travel by rail.
South Western Railway (SWR) is offering up to half price on some of its most popular routes to and from London - including Weymouth - for a limited time.
The Great British Rail Sale starts today, Tuesday, January 23 and will continue until Monday, January 29 with customers able to claim up to 50% off selected Advance and Off-Peak rail tickets.
Passengers travelling from Weymouth to London will only be charged £13, whilst journeys to and from Poole and Bournemouth will only cost £12.
Prices are for single journeys from London, but these prices also apply if you’re looking to take a trip to the capital for sightseeing, shopping or a theatre trip.
Peter Williams, SWR’s Customer and Commercial Director said: “We’re delighted to be part of the Great British Rail Sale and to give customers the opportunity to visit many outstanding destinations throughout the South West, at a great discount.
“Whether it’s visiting family or friends or taking a break away, we look forward to welcoming both new and returning customers aboard South Western Railway as part of this very special offer.”
Sale tickets will start to become available from midnight on Tuesday, January 23 for journeys taking place between Wednesday, January 31 and Friday, March 15.
