An author from Dorset has written a book about how to deal with trauma.
Trauma survivors still need a helping hand and that is why Jennie Bayliss, from Portland, has written her new book 'Heal Yesterday's Trauma'.
The book is based on her own healing journey after living abroad, separating from her husband and working in other careers, including a graphic design business she sold over a decade ago.
The book is set to be published on January 28 and will include exercises and tools to help readers improve their lives and feel happier again.
Jennie said: “Looking back, it’s fascinating to see how the dots joined and led me to publish this book.
"My healing journey began 30 years ago when life took me to the edge. To the outside world, my life looked good, but inside, I was falling apart.
"It was then my soul asked me to fathom, heal and forgive my granddad. My soul wanted this—but another part of me rebelled.
"So, for many years, I’d walk in the shadowlands for a while, then dance in the light. Somewhere along the way, I became a new me."
Jennie is now an Intuitive Life Coach, Emotional Healer, Emotional Freedom Technique practitioner and a Naturopathic Nutritional Adviser.
She has spent the last 20 years specialising in helping people who are in some form of emotional distress, struggling in their relationships, or wish to improve their health.
Since 2009, she has offered deep healing, one-to-one retreats at her home, Jasmine House on Portland, with clients travelling from all over the globe.
Jennie added: "I sold my business and trained to become a life coach, then later an emotional healer. For the last 20 years, I’ve helped those in emotional distress.
"My book includes my story of forgiveness, client stories, exercises, tools and inspiration for people who want to dance in the light once more and find their inner happiness.”
The book is part of a series that Jennie is publishing called 'Find Your Inner Happiness' and the second edition will be available in the autumn of 2024.
