A travel agent business in Weymouth has been recognised as being one of the best in the south west.

Hays Travel in Weymouth was shortlisted as one of the top five travel agents in the region, and is now in with a chance of being recognised nationally.

Recognition will mean that Hays Travel could make it on a national list of the 50 best travel agencies in the UK and Ireland for 2024, complied by Travel Trade Gazette.

The annual list aims to recognise and reward exceptional customer service and expertise that travel retailers offer their customers.

Based in St Mary Street, staff at the agency are looking to make it a hat-trick of inclusions in the top 50, previously making the list in 2019 and 2021.

Manager of Hays Travel in Weymouth, Hayley Gadd, was crowned Manager of the Year at the Travel Trade Gazette’s Travel Industry Awards 2023.

She said: “We are over the moon to have been shortlisted for Top Travel Agent in the South West.

“We won the award in both 2019 and 2021, so it would be absolutely amazing to win back the title after an incredibly successful year.

“The whole team have worked so hard to ensure we deliver the very best service to our customers and this recognition would really be the icing on the cake," she added.

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony held at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse on Thursday, April 25.
