A man has been arrested in connection with an early hours burglary at a care company in Dorchester, police said today.
It was reported that between 1.40am and 1.50am on Saturday, December 30 a man entered Eleanor Nursing & Social Care in Bridport Road and stole a bank card.
The bank card was subsequently alleged to have been used to carry out fraudulent transactions in the Poole area - 24 miles away.
Following enquiries by officers and a CCTV appeal, a 47-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He has been released under investigation as further enquiries are conducted.
* Dorset Police said the original appeal contained an incorrect location for the premises that was reportedly targeted and following clarification from officers the force can confirm the premises involved was Eleanor Nursing & Social Care in Bridport Road, Dorchester, and not as previously stated. Dorset Police said it would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
