A WALK through a Dorset nature reserve teeming with wildlife has been named one of the best winter strolls in the UK.
Arne Nature Reserve at Arne, near Wareham, has made the list of the UK's best winter walks put together by David Wilson Homes.
The homebuilder says it has 'scoured the country', talking to area managers across the UK to unearth the best winter walks to blow away the cobwebs this festive period.
It says of the RSPB's Arne Nature Reserve in Dorset: "It offers not only a beautiful location for a winter walk, but shows off some of the most spectacular wildlife in the south west.
"As you walk, don't forget to keep an eye out for the rare birds who call the area their home, such as woodpeckers, tits, siskins and sparrow hawks."
Also making the list were: Loch Morlich in the Highlands, Scotland; Rydal Water in the Lake District; The Twelve Apostles in Bingley, Yorkshire; Lynford Arboretum in Norfolk, the Dimmingsdale walk in Staffordshire and the Elidir Trail in Pontneddfechan.
