A renowned stand-up comic is returning to the stage with a brand-new live show at Weymouth Pavilion as part of his UK & Ireland 2024 tour.
Following a critically acclaimed sold-out UK tour in 2019, Ben Elton, best known for co-writing Blackadder and The Young Ones, will be embarking on a 54-date tour of his new show Authentic Stupidity next year.
He will take to the stage at Weymouth Pavilion on November 9. The tour opens on York Barbican on September 1 and culminates in London’s West End on November 18.
Authentic Stupidity centres on human stupidity which Ben Elton believes is the current biggest threat to the world.
He said: “The verdict’s in! Humanity is thick! Homo halfwit. The idiot branch of the Ape family! We need signs to tell us to step off escalators, we elect gibbering fools to lead us and now we’ve invented Artificial Intelligence which is actually going to replace us!
“I’ve spent 45 years in comedy exploring the outer limits of human idiocy and my mission has never been more timely. Forget AI! It’s AS we need to be worrying about!”
Ben Elton has a slew of awards to his name, having won a Bafta in 1990 for comedy series Blackadder Goes Forth, and again in 2023 for Comedy Entertainment Programme 2023 with his successful one-off revival of Friday Night Live.
Tickets are now on sale. A full list of tour dates and more information about the show can be found at: https://benelton.live/
