Snow has descended upon Dorset.
Residents have awoken to the first flakes of the season which have been spotted across the county, including in Weymouth, Dorchester and Portland.
The snow has also been spotted falling in Canford Heath, Verwood, Bournemouth and near Wimborne.
This comes after a yellow weather alert for snow and ice was issued for areas of the county.
The warning is in force until 4pm today
A Met Office spokesperson said accumulations are “likely to be relatively small, perhaps 1-3cm at most, and mainly in areas inland and above 100-200m”.
The spokesperson added: “In addition to this, icy patches may also develop on untreated surfaces.”
