AN ATMOSPHERIC service beginning by candlelight will feature some outstanding young singers performing.
On Saturday, December 2 at 4.30pm in St Peter’s Church, Dorchester, the Advent Carol Service will be sung by University Music Chamber Choir, formed from students at Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth.
This service will begin in candlelight and move from darkness to light with music and readings.
The choir will be singing beautiful choral settings by composers including Judith Weir, James MacMillan, John Tavener, Philip Stopford, Benjamin Britten and others.
Organisers say: "This will be the group’s first visit to Dorchester and provides a rare opportunity to hear these outstanding young singers in this part of the county.
"This is a free event, to which all are very welcome."
