A blood cancer charity will be holding a virtual workshop to support people in Dorset who are suffering from the disease.
Lymphoma Action’s Live your Life workshops have been developed for those coming to the end of their treatment for lymphoma – the fifth most common cancer in the UK. They also offer support to those who are being monitored by their healthcare team as their lymphoma doesn’t need treatment straight away (also known as ‘active monitoring’ or ‘watch and wait’.)
On Tuesday, December 5 they will be hosting a free virtual and interactive workshop which will run from 10am to 3pm. People will be given information around staying active, nutrition and support in managing the emotional aspects of the condition, as well as treatment for side effects. Attendees are welcome to bring a friend or family member to the workshop too.
Penny Clarke, Lymphoma Action volunteer and workshop facilitator said: “Being a patient has taught me it’s about putting one foot in front of the other and knowing where to turn to for good information and support. My aim is that everyone should leave a workshop feeling reassured.”
Whilst the virtual event is free to attend, booking is essential. To find out more, or to book a place, visit the Lymphoma Action website.
