A specialist hospice has received a £1,500 donation from Dorset house builders.
Barratt and David Wilson Homes have stepped in to show their support with a special cash donation to Weldmar Hospicecare which provides tailored end-of-life care for adults across Dorset with a life limiting illness.
The charity has an Inpatient Unit in Dorchester and offers home-based support throughout the west, south, and north of Dorset.
Fiona Hansford, Fundraising Lead at Weldmar Hospicecare, said: “Our charity is providing care for people across the county who are suffering from conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease, and heart disease, and our team is on hand to help patients and their loved ones through, what is, one of life’s most difficult journeys.
“We rely on the generosity of the local community to be able to offer all our services for free, so we are thrilled to have received this donation from Barratt and David Wilson. A huge thank you from everyone here.”
Barratt and David Wilson Homes are building new homes across Dorset and are committed to showing their support for worthy causes in the community.
Tammy Bishop, Barratt and David Wilson Homes Sales Director, Southampton Division, said: “Weldmar Hospicecare is providing specialist end-of-life service for people who need it in the community, and after hearing about the work they do, we just had to offer our help. It’s been a real pleasure to hand over this cheque today.”
Barratt Homes donates £18,000 per year through its Community Fund which helps to support local causes which improve the quality of life for those living in the region.
