It's time to dust off the decorations and break out the fairy lights for a festive decorating competition.
Chickerell's Community Christmas Lights Competition, known as the 'Twinkle Challenge', pits residents' homes against one another to see who has the best Christmas lights - as voted for by the community.
Initiated by past Mayor Jeff Mogg in 2020, this project continues to recognise the bright and colourful efforts of households in Chickerell.
This year, the winner will be chosen by public vote and local residents will get an opportunity to select their favourite entry on the Chickerell Twinkle Challenge Facebook page.
Photographs will also be on display at the town council offices where residents can vote. Each Chickerell resident will have one vote.
Entries from households within the Chickerell boundary are also now open.
To enter, visit the council’s website: www.chickerelltowncouncil.co.uk or email: mo.newport@chickerell-tc.gov.uk
Photographic entries must be submitted by Monday, December 18 and the winners’ cup will be presented by the Mayor on Thursday, December 21.
