Services across Dorset to dedicate a light for loved ones who will be missed at Christmas will begin next month.
Weldmar Hospicecare will hold its Light up a Life service across Dorset, where people can put a light by a special tree to commemorate those they will miss.
The invitation is open to anyone who has lost a loved one, whether they were cared for by Weldmar or not.
Services of remembrance will also be held at each of the trees in early December, featuring traditional hymns, readings, switching on and off the lights and reflection.
For anyone unable to attend in person, an online service will be broadcast on Weldmar’s Facebook and YouTube channels, which will be available to watch until after Christmas.
The services that will take place:
Dorchester- Tuesday, December 5, 6.30pm at the Weldmar Hospicecare Inpatient Unit on Herringston Road.
Weymouth - Sunday December 10, 5pm at Lodmoor Country Park.
Wareham - Sunday, December 3, 4pm at Holme for Gardens in West Holme.
Blandford - Monday, December 4, 6.30pm at the Crown Hotel on West Street.
Sherborne - Wednesday, December 6, 6.30pm at Castle Gardens on New Road
Gillingham - Thursday, December 7, 6.30pm at the Orchard Garden Centre on Shaftesbury Road.
Online service - Wednesday, December 13 at 7.30pm.
