A bridge in Weymouth was closed by police over concern for a man's welfare.
At 8.10pm yesterday evening police responded to a report raising concern for the welfare of a man on the Swannery Bridge in Weymouth.
Police closed the bridge as a precaution.
The man was taken to safety at 8.45pm.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report raising concern for the welfare of a man on Swannery Bridge in Weymouth.
"Officers attended and road closures were put in place as a precaution.
"Following efforts to engage with the man, he was taken to safety at around 8.45pm and given appropriate care."
