A FUNDRAISER and talk on Ukraine will be held this weekend to raise money to help the war-torn country.
It will take place on Saturday, November 25 at St Laurence Church, Upwey and money will be raised for Dorset Ukraine Humanitarian Aid Mission.
Started locally, Dorset Humanitarian Aid collects and delivers needed supplies to schools, hospitals and other bodies in Ukraine.
It’s staffed entirely by volunteers who find out what is needed, source it locally and drive it to Ukraine in with the organisation’s own vans and trailers.
Organised by the Upwey Society, the fundraiser begins at 7.30pm.
Entry is £5 and there will be a talk from Harry Barnes, who has recently returned from a trip to Ukraine.
There will also be a bar and raffle (cash only).
