A SECOND arrest has been made after a man was seriously injured in an assault in Weymouth.

As previously reported, police are investigating after a man in his 30s was taken to hospital for treatment of facial injuries sustained in an assault.

Detectives have made a second arrest as investigations continue.

It was reported that at around 2.10am on Sunday, November 12, a man was assaulted by a man and a woman at an address in Lennox Street.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to a number of facial injuries that were believed to be serious but not life-threatening.

Following enquiries at the scene, a woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and was released on police bail.

Detectives from Dorset County CID have continued to investigate the incident and a Weymouth man aged in his 30s has now been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and robbery.

He has also been released on police bail as enquiries continue.
