A CELLIST is to perform at the next Weymouth Lunchtime Concert on Wednesday, November 22.
Joseph Spooner will make a welcome return to the concert series, which is held at St Mary's Church in Weymouth town centre. It begins at 1pm.
He will be joined by Weymouth pianist Duncan Honeybourne in a programme which includes Frank Bridge's Sonata for Cello & Piano.
Written between 1913 and 1917, the sonata is at once richly romantic but also poignant and troubled, reflecting the composer's deep anguish about the First World War and the general state of the world.
Tickets cost £5 and are available from the website www.ticketsource.co.uk/weymouth-lunchtime-concerts
