More than £3,000 has been raised to support young bowel cancer patients in Dorset.
Sturminster Newton Freemasons at Blackmore Vale Lodge raised £1,372 for local charity Ducks and Drakes Cancer Trust.
The funds were raised and donated from The Master’s Christmas Function in 2022 to the charity he believes is ‘such a worthy cause’.
A donation from Dorset Masonic Care of £1,000, and the Masonic Care Foundation also for £1,000 means a total of £3,372.00 going to the cancer trust.

Ducks and Drakes Cancer Trust is based in Dorset and was founded by Andrew Drake and his family following the bowel cancer diagnosis of Andrew aged 24.
The Trust aims to create awareness of bowel cancer in young people, aged 18 to 30 in Dorset and the UK.
They support bowel cancer patients and their families through the provision of specialist equipment and financial aid.
This allows them to fund specialist nurses at Dorset County Hospital, specifically in the Colorectal Department and provide financial support for equipment at the new cancer unit at the hospital.
Dorset Masonic Care primarily provides support, relief and assistance to members of the Masonic community and their dependants living in Dorset.
They also provide support to, and for the benefit of, local charitable institutions or other charitable causes and individuals in Dorset.
