THOUSANDS of people gathered on Weymouth beach and along the seafront to catch a dazzling display organised by Weymouth Town Council.

After heavy rains and Storm Ciaran hit the county last week, crowds enjoyed a clear night for fireworks on the beach.

The celebrations kicked off at 6pm with refreshment stalls including food and drink from stalls including The Saddle Stop, The Tasty Burger Co, The Duck & Chicken, Proper Pork Crackling, Grilled n Chilled, Coffee Guys, Crazy Cow, The Sunflower Cafe and Bennetts Fish & Chips.

A giant beach bonfire was lit at 7.40pm, followed by the firework display over Weymouth Bay at 8pm.
