Several homes in west Dorset remain without power after thunder and lightning, along with gale force winds and heavy downpours, wreaked havoc across west Dorset last night.
37 homes in the DT6 area are still experiencing a power outage that is set to be resolved by 1pm on Thursday, November 2.
The postcodes affected are DT6 5RE, DT6 5RF and DT6 5RQ.
A widespread power cut was reported at 12.20am after 572 homes were left without power in the DT6 area.
Engineers were working to resolve the issue by 1am, however, at 1am 249 properties remained without power and the problem was expected to be resolved at 5am.
As of 8.50am the 37 homes were still without power.
A spokesperson for National Grid said: “We are aware of this power cut incident and our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you.”
