The largest elf street party in the south west is returning to Weymouth.
Now in its third year, Elf Street Party will take place in Weymouth town centre on Saturday, November 25 with plenty of elf-based activities to enjoy - and an appearance from Britain's Got Talent star George Sampson.
The BGT winner will take to the stage along with local headline band Leggoman as the street party draws to a close on New Bond Street.
It will culminate with the big switch on of Weymouth's Christmas tree and festive lights at 5pm.
Dawn Rondeau, chief operations officer at We Are Weymouth, said: “We’ve been elf mad in Weymouth for three years now and people travel from near and far to join in with our celebrations.
“Our local businesses dress up as elves, our night-time economy really gets into the spirit of things with elf nights and elf bands, Cineworld screens movies like ‘Elf’ or ‘Arthur Christmas’ and there are elves everywhere you look."
This year’s party will see an elf parade beginning at 11.30am, complete with a marching band, an elf dancing troupe and, of course, ‘the big man himself’, Father Christmas.
There will be street entertainers in the town centre between 10am and 4pm and stage entertainment in New Bond Street from 12pm to 6pm.
Dawn added: ”We’ve had national TV shows come and film with us and the big man himself - Father Christmas is always present - it’s a really special day and it’s definitely the biggest gathering of elves in the southwest, if not the UK!”
Elf workshops, illuminations and letter writing classes will also be available for people to enjoy, alongside food and drink stalls, a Father Christmas grotto and a Christmas tree and light switch on.
Watch as Weymouth sparkles as its Christmas lights are switched on for the season. Keep an eye out for something special this year when the tree lights go on.
After the lights switch-on there will be plenty of entertainment to enjoy in town with a number of 'elf-themed' bars in town hosting live bands and entertainment from 6.30pm to 11pm.
Weymouth nightclub The Closet will also be hosting its Elf Night again from 7pm to 4am for those who want to keep the party going late, however, elf costumes are a must.
