A woman was injured on a popular walking route yesterday evening.
The woman suffered a suspected broken ankle on the South West Coast Path near the PGL centre at Osmington at around 6pm yesterday (Monday, October 30).
Coastguards from Wyke and Lulworth were called and helped to rescue the injured woman.
The woman's ankle was reduced on scene, and splinted before transporting her to an awaiting ambulance.
The air ambulance was also called at around 6.30pm and took off from Dorchester Road in Weymouth.
A spokesperson for the Marine Coastguard Agency said: "We received a call shortly before 6pm yesterday (October 30) to reports that a woman had fallen on the coastal path near Osmington. Wyke and Lulworth CRTs attended and affected a rescue of the injured woman, who was transferred to the care of South West Ambulance Service."
A spokesperson for Wyke Coastguard said: "We arrived on scene along with Helimed, South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust paramedics and Lulworth Coastguard Rescue Team. The casualty's ankle was reduced on scene, splinted before transporting her to an awaiting ambulance."
