The first floor of a former hotel went up in flames calling for a large emergency response.
Firefighters from Bridport rushed to the huge fire at Seaton Heights, working through the night in an attempt to tackle the blaze.
The team was joined by around 19 other crews from surrounding areas who all worked tirelessly.
A search and rescue mission was also carried out by breathing apparatus teams at the hotel, following information that there may still be people inside.
Once it was confirmed the building was clear, the teams retreated to the outside to fight the fire externally as the building became unsafe for crews to work in.
Crews worked extremely hard throughout the night to bring the fire under control with lots of resources being deployed to the scene.
A spokesperson for Seaton Fire Station said: “This week has been busy for us at Seaton. A particularly significant incident was the fire at Seaton Heights.
“Crews worked hard throughout the night to bring the fire under control with lots of resources being deployed to the scene.
“Our crew arrived to find a large part of the first floor of the former hotel well alight. Access was difficult as was establishing a reliable water supply.
“Crews made up for additional resources to help tackle the fire as well as a water bowser and aerial appliance.”
In total over 54 appliances, special units and officers attended the incident which occurred on the afternoon of Monday, October 23.
