DORSET has been named the most haunted holiday destination in the UK.
As the spooky season approaches, holiday provider Park Holidays has delved into the paranormal to reveal the UK's most haunted holiday destinations.
The UK’s most popular holiday destinations were ranked based on research into the number of ghost-related myths and legends per location.
Dorset was crowned the "most haunted holiday destination" in the UK with 18 haunted stories and sightings in the county.
Dorset finished in first place, followed by Norfolk with 15 haunted sightings and then the Cotswolds in third place.
The county was named the "scariest staycation" with the greatest number of ghost sightings, myths and legends in the UK.
Some of the fabled locations include Bettiscombe Manor, home of the screaming skull and the giggling girls of Durdle Door.
There are plenty of spooky stories to entertain the most enthusiastic of Halloween lovers.
