Two cruise ships have arrived at Portland Port, one of which was not scheduled to make the stop.
Arriving at 6am this morning on Portland is the MSC Euribia. This huge cruise ship had not been scheduled to stop at Portland.
It is a brand-new cruise ship built in 2023 and has a massive passenger capacity of up to 6,000.
It is mid-way through a nine-day, round-trip Northern Europe and had been scheduled to arrive today in Guernsey.
MSC Cruises has been asked for comment as to why the ship has arrived at Portland.
According to the schedule, the ship's last stop is in Hamburg, Germany on Tuesday, October 24.
This is the ship's first visit to Portland. It was christened by the Italian actress Sophia Loren.
Also docked is the Norwegian Star operated by Norwegian Cruise Line. It can hold up to 2,348 passengers across 15 decks.
It is on a 10-day, round-trip British Isles and this is its second last stop before passengers disembark at Southampton.
It consists of 1,176 cabins – 70% of which have views of the ocean. Unusual for a cruise ship, it has twin 220-square-metre, three-bedroom suites situated atop the ship complete with a private garden and sundeck. It was built in 2001 and was christened by Brooke Burke.
