A SHOPLIFTER was stopped from stealing items at a Weymouth shop.
Police Community Safety Officers (PCSOs) were on patrol in Weymouth town centre yesterday.
The officers stopped a person who was said to have attempted to steal items from Marks and Spencer.
PCSOs also spoke to a group who were in an area known for anti-social behaviour.
The group was moved on to prevent any further issues.
A spokesperson for Weymouth and Portland Police said: "Our Community Safety Patrol Officers helped deter a shoplifter in Weymouth Town Centre who attempted to steal goods from M&S.
"They also spoke to and moved on a group, who were in an area previously known for ASB, before any further issues could arise."
