Halloween is fast approaching and people will be looking for events to dress up for and enjoy the spooktacular time of year.

We have put together a list of some frightful events this October half-term in Dorset for you to enjoy.

Abbotsbury Swannery Halloween Fun:

Throughout the October school half term Abbotsbury Swannery will be hosting Halloween-themed activities including a pumpkin trial, potion house, pirate skeletons and creative crafts.

Kids for £1 or free if in fancy dress, with a full-paying adult (each adult can bring a maximum of 3 kids). No advanced tickets are needed, pay on the day.

This event is Halloween-themed but not scary, it has been created with under 10-year-olds in mind.

Bincombe Bumps Pumpkins Halloween Spooktacular:

Bincombe Bumps Farm in Weymouth will hold a Halloween Spooktacular from October 21 to October 28, 10am to 4pm. This will include pick-your-own pumpkin, a haunted house and trick-or-treating. Entrance is free and dogs are welcome.

Halloween Half Term at Shire Hall Museum:

The Shire Hall Museum in Dorchester will be full of scarily fun family activities this Halloween half-term.

There will be slime making workshops, crafts and a spooky trail. Spend time in the underground cells, with autumnal treats in the café. Kids who are dressed up go free. Monday, October 23 to Saturday, October 28.

Halloween Fun at the Nothe Fort, Weymouth:

Hunt for Warren and Winnie the ghostly mice, venture into the ghost tunnels, dress up for the vampire photobooth or take part in the pumpkin golf, potion school, Halloween games, spooktacular shows and see the Morris Dancing Witches in all their spookiness. 

All activities are free with admission, and annual pass given with every ticket. October 21 to 29, 10.30am to 4pm.

Sandworld: 

Sandworld Weymouth will be hosting a number of Halloween-themed events including sand pumpkin sculpting, a Halloween hunt with prizes. Kids in full fancy dress get in free. From October 21 to 31.

Sea  Life Weymouth 'Ascarium':

The aquarium at Sea Life will be turned into an 'Ascarium' to mark the spooky holiday. Help the Sea Witch and Warlock look after their ocean home and fellow sea creatures by completing magical challenges throughout the aquarium. 

There will be an activity trail and challenges throughout the aquarium, visual games and activities with a reward for completion. This event is included with Sea Life admission.

Weymouth Haunted Harbour Tour:

This walking tour of the Old Harbour and passageways of Weymouth takes you into a darker side of this popular holiday resort. From Saxon massacres, the Black Death, murders, mysteries, and haunted happenings, to a forgotten graveyard, strange spectral sightings, and secretive paths.

Tour starts from the Nothe Tavern, Barrack Road, Weymouth, on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm and lasts around 90 minutes, finishing back at the graveyard next to the pub.

Halloween Half Term at Farmer Palmer’s:

If you're looking for a spooky day out for the family then Farmer Palmer's Farm Park would be a great option for some 'Picturesque Pumpkin Picking' and features daily 'trick or treat' tractor rides.

Not to mention the Witches Races, Spooky Maize Maze and Dance Time. 

You will need to pre-book admission tickets and pumpkin-picking tickets on their website.

Upwey Wishing Well Haunted Forest Trail:

The Wishing Well will be hosting its haunted forest trail from October 23 to 29, 10am to 5pm. 

Use all your senses and keep an eye out as you journey through the interactive trail.

For £3 per child, dive into the eerie Haunted Forest Trail. Each child's admission includes an activity pack and a thrilling goodie bag!

Halloween at The Walled Garden:

For the spooky season, Moreton Walled Garden will be hosting a new bug and reptile experience on October 25-28 together with the autumn/Halloween trail from October 21 to 29.

The bug and reptile experience is £5.50 per child and the trail map is £3.
