ACCLAIMED performer Paul Morel is heading to Dorset this November to share his irreverent adaptation of one of Shakespeare’s brilliant tragedies.

He will be performing King Lear live in two rural communities including Buckland Newton as part of the touring programme from Artsreach, the county’s rural arts charity.

Armed with only a drum, a guitar, a knife and a chair, the tragic trajectory of Lear’s demise is presented to you from the point of view of his long suffering and ever-loyal fool.

The bastard Edmund, haughty Goneril, poor deluded Gloucester, oily Oswald, sweet Cordelia, mad Tom – all the characters from this sad and sorry tale are brought to glorious life glorious life in this fast paced, funny, poignant and ultimately heartbreaking production.

Adapted and performed by Paul Morel and directed by John Mowat, this is said to be an unmissable reworking of one of Shakespeare’s most brilliant plays, delivered with all of Oddbodies’ trademark physical ingenuity and visual flair.

See Paul Morel present his solo show in Buckland Newton Village Hall (call 01300 345455 for tickets) on Friday, November 24 and Powerstock Hut (call 01308 485730 for tickets) on Saturday, November 25.
