Weymouth Family Science Festival is coming to Nothe Fort, bringing a host of fun activities for visitors to try.
The event is taking place on Sunday, October 1, from 10.30am until 4pm, and is offering a wide range of scientific demonstrations.
An inflatable planetarium will be on offer offering up facts about the night sky, as well as teaching visitors how to recognise constellations and how they got their names.
Among the other demonstrations, visitors will be able to make and launch their own rocket from within the fort’s grounds and try out other types of experiments as part of the Institute of Physics section.
There will also be exhibitions on marine life and conversation, the science behind clean and sustainable water, how to maintain a clean planet and the phenomenon of polarised light.
Portland Museum will also be showcasing historical artifacts and tales from the past, whilst Gordon Le Pard will be on hand to help visitors explore the roots of modern science.
The festival will be covered by a general admission ticket or an annual pass.
