Tickets for Weymouth’s Octoberfest beer festival are selling out fast with one session already completely sold out.
This year’s edition of the event is taking place in Weymouth Pavilion’s Ocean Room on Friday, October 6 and Saturday, October 7.
However, tickets for the festival are going quickly with the Friday lunchtime slot already sold out, whilst Friday evening and Saturday lunchtime only have a few spaces remaining.
Saturday night remains the best chance to grab a spot at this year’s Octoberfest, which has been organised by the west Dorset branch of Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
The festival will see the largest selection of Welsh cask ales and ciders with 62 different ales and will also feature a guest bar from the Vale of Glamorgan brewery.
CAMRA bar manager Rich Gabe said: “This festival is a great opportunity to showcase beers and ciders from various regions of the UK. Octoberfest has plenty of seating and food available from the Pavilion bar, with entertainment in the evening.
“Beer talk and banter rule the lunchtime sessions - what’s not to like.”
Of the beers on offer, there will be milds, porters and stouts from Big Hand, Facer’s and Gwaun Valley breweries for lovers of dark beer. Bitters, pale ales and IPAs from Core of Poodle, Purple Moose and Tinworks breweries will be available for those who like something a little lighter.
Alongside the new wave of Welsh brewers, there will also be long established ones such as Brains, Felinfoel and former “Champion Beer of Britain” brewery Tiny Rebel.
Cider drinkers have not been left out either, with a range of traditional and added fruit styles to sample from makers such as Dee, Gwynt y Draig, Gethins and Pulp.
Live music during the evenings will be from local acoustic musician Chris Davies who will be performing popular cover songs as well as some of his own original content.
Entry is by advance ticket only and costs £11 per session, which includes a free pint of beer or cider, souvenir glass and programme.
Sessions run on both days run between 11am to 4pm and 6.30pm to 11.30pm.
Tickets are available from Weymouth’s The Globe and the Dog House Micro pub and Chalbury Town Store, The Royal Portland Arms pub on Portland, Convivial Rabbit Micro pub in Dorchester and online at www. camrawdorset.org.uk.
Alternatively, tickets can be bought from Weymouth Pavilion Box Office but will cost £13 per ticket.
