A talk by a local nurse about her experience working in war-torn and earthquake-stricken nations has raised £200 for charity.
Anna Kent, a local nurse and author of the memoir Frontline Midwife, gave a talk at Weymouth Library on Saturday, September, 23.
Anna described some of her experiences working for the humanitarian charity 'Medicin Sans Frontier' - also known as Doctors Without Borders - including nursing in war-torn Sudan and post-earthquake Haiti.
She also spoke about how she and other medical professionals cope with the stress of providing care in these traumatic situations. Spontaneous applause broke out in response to Anna's passionate words on the importance of our free NHS.
