A body has been found on a Scottish island amid a search for a hillwalker from Dorset reported missing more than two weeks ago.
Police said that the family of 74-year-old Francis Johnson had been informed of the discovery, though no formal identification had yet taken place.
Mr Johnson had travelled from his home in Dorset to Scotland on September 4.
He was last seen at the Glenbrittle campsite on the Isle of Skye on September 6. His belongings were still on site, leading police to believe he had left on foot.
A body was found on the Cuillin range on Skye, officers said.
In a statement on Sunday, Police Scotland Highland and Islands said: “The body of a man has been found on the Cuillin range in the Isle of Skye during searches for a missing person.
“He is yet to be formally identified but the family of Francis Johnson, 74, who had been reported missing in the area, have been informed.”
