AN UNMISSABLE weekend of live music is being held in a Dorset village.
Phoenix Fundraisers presents a 'don't miss it' weekend for Dorset folk fans at Osmington Village Hall on the weekend of Saturday, October 14 and Sunday, October 15.
Devon-based duo Jacob & Drinkwater will perform on the Saturday.
Called 'stand out new folk' by BBC 6 Music, their live show is described as 'intense and spellbinding' by Folk Radio UK.
Jacob’s sweeping vocals never fail to captivate, delivering many a spine-tingling moment; the fluidity and precision of his finger-picking underpinned by Drinkwater’s nimbly rhythmic double bass – at times sweetly soaring, haunting, and percussive.
Tickets cost £14. Call 07816 832554 or go to https://www.wegottickets.com/event/584334
On Sunday, October 15 The Churchfitters will perform in Osmington.
Their array of instruments includes a motorcycle petrol tank, a musical saw and a Mercedes Benzouki made from hubcaps.
These three flamboyant characters present their uplifting and entertaining show with a unique dynamism and describe their music as “Folk Unlimited”.
Mike Harding calls it “Brilliant and beautiful” while Dave Pegg says they are “The most musically inventive group I’ve seen in decades”.
