Dorset's motorists will have numerous road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

 

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A31, from 8pm September 7 to 6am September 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 eastbound and westbound, Mill Street, temporary traffic lights for Trooli works.

• A31, from 8pm August 1 to 6am September 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 both directions Lake Gates Roundabout, Lane closure for sign works.

• A303, from 8pm April 3 to 5am December 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 both directions Hayes End to Parkhouse - mobile lane works for drainage works.

• A31, from 8pm September 4 2023 to 6am April 30 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A31 both directions Ashley Heath to Palmersford, carriageway closure for carriageway reconstruction works.

And a further 11 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A31, from 8pm September 11 to 6am September 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 westbound, West Moors, slip road and lane closure for electrical works.

• A35, from 8pm September 11 to 6am September 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A35 Bridport to Dorchester - Full closure - additional asset works and periodic works - nights.

• A31, from 8pm September 12 to 6am September 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 eastbound, Ashley Heath to Ringwood, Lane and slip closures for drainage works.

• A31, from 8pm September 13 to 6am September 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 both directions Merley Roundabout to Canford Bottom Roundabout, traffic signals for signage works.

• A31, from 8pm September 13 to 6am September 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 both directions Bere Regis Roundabout to Winterbourne Kingstone, traffic signals for signage works.

• A31, from 8pm September 14 to 6am September 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A31 westbound, Ashley Heath, exit slip road closure for carriageway reconstruction works.

• A31, from 8pm September 18 to 6am September 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 eastbound and westbound, West Moors, slip road and lane closures for drainage work, diversion via National Highways network.

• A35, from 8pm September 18 to 6am September 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A35 Dorchester By Pass - Full closure - Additional Asset works and Periodic works - nights.

• A35, from 7am to 5pm on September 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A35 Eype Bridport by Pass two-way traffic lights cut and collect.

• A31, from 9.30am September 19 to 3.30pm September 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 eastbound and westbound, Spetisbury to Roundhouse Roundabout, temporary traffic lights for BT works.

• A31, from 8pm September 19 to 6am September 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 eastbound, Bere Regis to Lake Gates, temporary traffic signals for technology work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
