Two concerts will be held to celebrate the choir leader's ten years of service as she steps away from the role.
On Saturday, September 16, the Rock Choir in Poole, Weymouth and Dorchester will come together to perform the two celebration concerts.
These concerts will each be a 90-minute all-singing, all-dancing showcase celebrating ten years to the day since Rock Choir Leader Stacey Hobday began rehearsing the choirs together in Dorset.
It’s also the end of an era as Stacey steps into a new role at Rock Choir Headquarters and hands her choir members to a brand new Rock Choir Leader.
Stacey Hobday said: “It has been an absolute thrill and an honour to lead the four Dorset Rock Choirs for the past ten years. Bringing music to people’s lives is such a joy and the unexpected bonus is watching friendships blossom and confidence grow.
"This is a huge moment for me personally as I hand three of the four choirs over to other leaders as I progress further with my career in Rock Choir so this concert feels like a milestone in more ways than one.
"We have had the opportunity to do some incredible things together including recording at Abbey Road Studios, singing a cappella for the last post ceremony at Menin Gate & flash mobbing the Radio 2 Proms in the Park with 10,000 other Rock Choir members but for me bringing in the local community, making people smile and raising money for charity will always bring the greatest rewards.“
The show will take place at The Thomas Hardye Theatre in Dorchester. Expect energy, enthusiasm, laughs and tears as 120 singers take to the stage to perform a varied repertoire of contemporary songs from Fleetwood Mac to The Four Tops with a little Michael Buble in there for good measure.
The event will be supporting local charity, Amelia's Rainbow, which support children in Dorset and the surrounding area who are suffering from any terminal, life-limiting, serious and chronic illnesses. £1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the charity and Rock Choir will also be taking cash donations at the event.
Each ticket will cost £12.00 plus the booking fee and you'll receive a free drink on arrival - a choice of beer, prosecco or a soft drink.
