A charity football match featuring celebrities due to take place in Dorchester has had to be rescheduled.

The Sellebrity soccer football event was going to be held on Sunday, September 3 featuring TV personalities including former EastEnders actor Dean Gaffney and reality TV star Calum Best.

The match at the Magpies' stadium has now been moved to Saturday, October 21 with a 3pm kick off, it has been announced.

An email sent out to ticket holders stated that “due to unforeseen circumstances, the charity match at Dorchester Town for Tommy’s Charity has had to be rescheduled."

“We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused,” it adds.

Co-Founder of Sellebrity Soccer events, Kevin Cooper, said: “After speaking to the football club and charity yesterday, the decision was made to reschedule the event as between four to five of the bigger names were subject to work commitments coming through at the last minute.

“The celebrities are brilliant and give up their free time to raise the money for these charities, and we just want it to be the best day possible for the fans.”

Mr Cooper hinted that along with the current celebrity line-up, the change in date has opened the possibility of new additional names to the roster, to be announced closer to the time.

The game will raise funds for Tommy's Charity, which campaigns to find causes and treatments to save babies’ lives as well as pregnancy and baby loss support.

Calum Best, son of legendary Manchester United footballer George, appeared on several reality TV shows including Celebrity Big Brother twice as well as Ex on the Beach and Celebs Go Dating will be trading TV for the football pitch.

Joining Calum will be, amongst others, 2011 X-Factor winner James Arthur, known for hits including Say You Won't Let Go.

Dan Osborne, known for appearing in reality show The Only Way is Essex, will also be playing, as well as Tik Tok star Chet Sket.

Former EastEnders star Dean Gaffney - who played Robbie in the popular soap - will be lining up with Britain's Got Talent star Flintz.

Matt Lapinskas, who played Anthony Moon in Eastenders from 2011 to 2012, has also been announced to play.
