A CARE home in Weymouth has received a ‘good’ rating in its first inspection.

Weymouth Manor Residential and Nursing care home, located on Radipole Lane, was recently inspected by the Care and Quality Commissioning team (CQC).

The CQC monitors and inspects the condition of adult care homes across the UK, rating them in a multitude of factors including its safety and effectiveness.

The commissioning team spoke to 12 of the 66 residents as well as 10 members of staff about the home.

One comment from a resident or family member said: “If I was to recommend Weymouth Manor I would say you can’t go wrong, they care. If I was to go anywhere it would be there.”

Whilst another labelled the home as ‘immaculate’, calling the atmosphere ‘lovely.’

The care home, which opened last year, celebrated the achievement with a party for staff, residents, families, and professionals. Also in attendance were Weyouth Mayor Kate Wheller and Councillor Christine James.

Home manager Louise McLaughlin was ‘thrilled’ at the news, saying: “We as a team at Weymouth Manor are so very passionate about making our home the most incredible home it can be for all the lovely residents, visitors and staff.

“We are so very passionate and dedicated in our roles to ensure the highest quality of person-centred care for all residents and we strive to ensure this new chapter in their lives is the most positive and fulfilled time possible, supporting them to make even more memories to add to those they already have.”
