A VARIETY of sea songs can be enjoyed at a special performance in Poundbury next month.

The Wareham Whalers are Dorset’s own unaccompanied Sea Shanty Singing Group, singing in the style of nearly 200 years ago.

They formed in 2004 and have been delighting their audiences with a variety of sea songs.

They will be performing in front of the Dorchester Townswomen’s Guild on Monday, September 11 in Dorchester Community Church, Liscombe Street, Poundbury, DT1 3DF.

The performance will start after a short business meeting which starts at 2pm.

Tea and coffee will be available. Visitors will be made very welcome for £3.
