ONE of the largest employers in the area will leave its iconic building in response to ever-changing working patterns.
LV= General Insurance has announced it will be moving from its headquarters in County Gates, Bournemouth, after nearly 30 years.
The general insurance operations of the firm will move to Stour House in Deansleigh Road, which bosses say is “a more sustainable working environment”.
Employees will stay in Frizzell House, which has been the home of LV= since 1996, until the end of 2024.
However, the move only impacts LV= General Insurance which is owned by the Allianz Group. The building is also home to LV= Financial Services.
A spokesperson for LV= said, “LV= remains committed to the Westbourne community and there are no plans for us to leave the local area.
“The announcement is from Allianz who use some of our office space at Frizzell House, and who have a brand licence agreement to use the LV= name.”
The roundabout where Frizzle House is located has been commonly referred to as the ‘LV roundabout’ or 'Frizzell roundabout' for many years.
Just off the A3060 Castle Lane East, Stour House has been chosen by the major insurer as its new home for meeting sustainability requirements.
Keith Misson, transformation director at LV= General Insurance, said: “We’ve been in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area for many years and remaining part of the local community is something that is incredibly important to us.
“When looking for a new office, we wanted a space that could support our aspiration to have a more sustainable working environment and an office that suited the hybrid way of working, offering our people plenty of space to collaborate and make the most of days together.
“With the lease coming to an end at Frizzell House, we felt that now is the right time to move to a new location.
“We won’t be making any redundancies as part of this change, and we remain committed to staying in the Bournemouth area.
“Our new office in Stour House provides us with all of this and more and we’re looking forward to moving there at the end of 2024.”
LV= General Insurance provides car, home, pet, travel, landlord, breakdown and home emergency insurance and uses the LV= brand under licence from the Liverpool Victoria financial services group.
