A WEYMOUTH rugby player will be sentenced later this month for harassing a woman.
Joseph Gibson, aged 38 and of Minton Place, Weymouth, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on Monday, August 7 where he pleaded guilty to harassment without violence.
On Sunday, November 20, 2022, Gibson 'pursued a course of conduct' which amounted to the harassment of a woman, the court heard.
Gibson 'persistently sent messages, emails and voicemails' and that he 'knew or ought to have known' amounted to the harassment of the woman.
The 38-year-old, a regular for Weymouth RFC last season, was accused of the offence on July 19 and was released on conditional bail.
Gibson has been ordered not to have any contact with the woman 'in any manner whatsoever'.
Gibson will be sentenced at Poole Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
