We received reports earlier that the A354 Weymouth Relief Road was closed from Littlemoor up towards Dorchester.

Emergency service vehicles have been seen in the area of the Jurassic Roundabout at Littlemoor.

Police have now informed us this was all due to an abnormal load which has been escorted through the area.

Temporary closures affected other routes in Weymouth as the load went through.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "We received a report of an abnormal load at 10.38am that was travelling south along the Ridgeway and causing traffic issues. Officers have attended to assist with traffic management."
