FORMER Bournemouth winger Junior Stanislas faces a charge of speeding in a west Dorset village.
The 33-year-old, who lives in Poole, also allegedly failed to give information to the police relating to the identity of a driver.
The footballer, who left Premier League side AFC Bournemouth at the start of this month and is now a free agent, is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates' Court next week.
Stanislas, whose first name is Felix, is accused of driving five miles an hour over the speed limit in a Land Rover on the A35 in Winterbourne Abbas on December 4, 2022.
The village has a speed limit of 30mph.
The former England Under-21 international is also accused of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle when required on January 12, 2023 at Dorset Police's headquarters in Winfrith Newburgh.
Stanislas was at the Cherries for a total of nine years before departing the Dorset side on July 1 and is now without a club.
He played a bit-part role for Bournemouth last season, appearing just five times, as they survived relegation.
The 33-year-old joined Cherries from Burnley in the summer of 2014 on a free transfer and helped the club secure promotion from the Championship at the first attempt.
Stanislas has played 179 games for the club, scoring 38 goals.
