A PERSON has been arrested in connection with a two-vehicle crash which closed a major road in Dorset.
At around 12.36pm, two vehicles collided on the A30 Bradford Road near to the Oxley Sports Centre in Sherborne.
Police, fire and ambulance services all rushed to the scene of the crash, which saw one person rescued from a car by firefighters.
One person has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The road has been blocked from Lows Hill Lane to Longburton turn off.
Traffic is reported to be 'coping well', according to Dorset Council's live travel maps.
Dorset Police said: "We were called at 12.36 pm to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Bradford Road near to the Oxley Sports Centre in Sherborne
"Officers are in attendance with the ambulance and fire services
"The road is currently closed."
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said in a statement: "We were called to Bradford Road, Sherborne at 12.52pm today for a two vehicle road traffic collision.
"Three crews attended, from Sherborne, Yeovil and Wincanton, together with a rescue unit from Yeovil.
"Hydraulic rescue equipment and small tools were used to free one casualty from a car."
