Weymouth harbour is buzzing with life this week with the return of a popular event.
Weymouth Lifeboat Week continues this week with a variety of events and activities aimed at all the family.
The popular week-long charity event, which supports the RNLI, provides entertainment for people of all ages with crabbing competitions, live music, and pub quizzes continuing until July 29.
Andy Sargent, Coxswain said: "Lifeboat Week provides numerous opportunities to have fun and show your support for our volunteer crews. But it's also our opportunity to invite you to visit the lifeboat station, meet crew volunteers and take a tour of the lifeboats - for you come and imagine what it's like to be aboard and head out to sea to rescue someone in difficulty."
A favourite event of the week is often the crew displays which see the volunteer crews launch lifeboats into Weymouth Bay to provide live demonstrations of some of the life-saving techniques they practice and employ.
Teresa Drage, Volunteer Fundraising Chair said: "Our generous local businesses and supporters have once again pulled out all the stops to help the lifeboat fundraising team and volunteer crews put on a full programme, we are really looking forward to this year's events."
The RNLI is a charity that relies on generous donations from the public to enable it to carry out search and rescue operations and save lives at sea, with its volunteers providing a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts.
