A kite surfer 'in trouble at sea' sparked a rescue mission.
Emergency services, including Lyme Regis RNLI and coastguards, were called to Charmouth yesterday evening.
The alarm was raised at about 5.40pm on Thursday, when someone ashore called the coastguard.
It was reported that a kite surfer was in difficulty in the water off Charmouth beach.
The lifeboat crew launched and, just a few minutes later, established that a kite surfer had lost some of his equipment and that he and others with him were safe.
Coastguards stood down the lifeboat crew at 6pm.
It was 29th call for help answered by the Lyme Regis lifeboat crew so far this year.
