A driver has come forward after a 13-year-old boy was injured when he came off his bike.
It is alleged the boy was trying to avoid a crash and that the driver did not stop at the scene.
At around 8.50pm on Thursday, June 15, the teenager was riding his bike on Kings Road in Dorchester when he reportedly had to take 'evasive action' to avoid a collision with a yellow car.
There was no direct contact with the car, police say, however the cyclist reportedly came off his bike as a result of the incident and sustained a broken wrist.
It was reported that the car involved did not stop at the scene.
Following an image appeal to identify the driver of the car involved, a motorist has come forward and is helping police with their ongoing enquiries.
No arrests have been made.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal."
