A Range Rover was reportedly stolen near Weymouth before crashing into a wall.
Dorset Police was called at 12.30am on Friday, June 9 to reports that the vehicle had been stolen from an address in the Nottington area.
It was reported a short time later that the vehicle - believed to be a red Range Rover - crashed into a wall in the Abbotsbury area.
Officers attended and following enquiries a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle before being taken to hospital as a precaution.
He was released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Police Constable Charlie Andrews, of Weymouth police, said: “We are conducting a number of enquiries in relation to this incident and I am keen to hear from witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our investigation.
“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area of Nottington and the B3157 Coast Road between around 12.30am and 12.45am on Friday, June 9 to please review any dashcam footage for anything that might assist our investigation.
“I would also make a similar plea to any residents along those routes with home CCTV systems to please check their footage for the relevant time period.”
