Today young people and supporters are invited to an inclusive event to celebrate Pride.
Dorset Youth Pride returns to Shire Hall Museum in Dorchester today (Saturday, June 10). Now in its second year, it is an event for all members of the LGBT+ community and supporters.
The museum is open for free from 10am-4pm and visitors will have the opportunity to take part in a range of activities.
The museum has partnered with organisations across the county to deliver this inclusive event.
Dorset Youth Pride will feature stalls from Space Youth Project, Pop’n’Olly, Dorset Youth Voice, Weymouth Gay Group, This is Me and Dorset Police.
The Young Historians Group from the Keep Military Museum will showcase their display, ‘Queer Was Always Here’, exploring LGBT+ figures throughout history.
In the afternoon, Vinyl Van will be taking over the historic courtroom with ‘Pride Pick & Mix’. Visitors can take over the decks and play some of their favourite music and Pride anthems.
There will also be opportunities to learn more about LGBT+ history and issues, with informative talks and additional resources available throughout the day.
