A family fun day is making its return this weekend after tasting success in its first event last year.
The free family fun day will be held at Weymouth Rugby Club on Monmouth Avenue, Sunday, June 11, from noon to 7pm.
It will include sports day events, a tombola, a giant inflatable slide, bungee trampolines, various craft and pre-loved stalls, ice cream, bbq, a bar, and live music from dusk until dawn.
Organiser Caroline Lampard said: "As soon as last year's event finished the people at the rugby club asked us to do another one.
"I had so many people and stall owners messaging me afterwards saying how much they enjoyed it and that the kids loved it.
"It was very busy last year, so this year everyone has doubled stock."
There will also be fun day classics like hook a duck, splat the rat, guess the bear's name and how many sweets are in the jar.
The event last year was Caroline's first-ever family fun day. She organised it to raise money for Weldmar Hospicecare as part of her fundraising for a charity trek across the Sahara. This year she will be trekking for 12 days across Madagascar together with her accomplice and fellow fun day organiser LaToya Allport.
The entrance is free and money raised on the day will go towards Weldmar Hospicecare as the organisers train for a daring multiple-day fundraiser trek across Madagascar.
Caroline, who lives in Weymouth, runs a Home Help business looking after older people in their own homes by coming to help by doing things like cleaning, doing laundry and shopping. She says as part of her job she has come to appreciate what Weldmar Hospice does even more, and that is why she chose to do these fundraisers.
The event last year raised approximately £2,000.
Caroline added: "We were shocked to raise so much last year, which is one of the main reasons we want to do it again.
"Thank you to the rugby club for having us again and everyone who has gotten involved. It wouldn't be possible without you."
