ARRR ye maties - a historic fort in Weymouth has chosen to mark the half term with pirate-themed activities.
Nothe Fort in Weymouth has been flying the jolly roger this half term with its 'Pirates of the Fort' event.
The event, which runs from 10.30am to 4pm Saturday, May 27 to Sunday, June 4, includes fun for all the family.
Dress up and get involved with the pirate photobooth or make your very own hat to take home. Not to mention the tots’ pirate games - from walking the plank to panning for gold plus a whole lot more activities.
Mary Fry visited the fort with her grandchildren Ebony and Elijah. She said: "I think it is fantastic. A lot of thought goes into what the kids will enjoy."
Linda Carter is visiting Weymouth over the bank holiday with her family, including her grandson Jack. She said: "We are staying in Weymouth for a couple of days. It is absolutely gorgeous today and Jack likes pirates."
Ian Birch is visiting from a holiday park in Poole with his son Oscar and the rest of the family. He said: "There is a fort where we live so we thought we would come down and see how it compares."
Kirsty Colman was visiting for the first time with her family. She said: "It is a lovely location full of history.
"We were looking at what to do today and the kids weren't into the big music events so we came up here."
There is also a themed mouse hunt and all are welcome in pirate fancy dress – hat and all.
Holly Langford is a regular visitor to the fort. She said: "The kids love it. They love the ghost tunnel.
"I just said let's have a hop down and have a wander, take some time away from the busy beach."
The event is covered by your general admission or annual pass.
Emma Murgatroyd, the Visitor Experience Co-ordinator at Nothe Fort said: "We are trying to do a lot more for families in half term. To be that cultural hub that people want to go to and to have lots of fun events for locals and holidaymakers to enjoy.
"Events like this invite people into the fort who might not usually come.
"It is nice to deliver events that people can bring the whole family to and enjoy.
