A YOUNG singer from Dorset is set to release a new single as he continues on a run of appearances at festivals around the UK.
Alfie Neale from Dorchester has released his acoustic guitar-driven anthem ‘Uptight’ along with his first music video.
Now residing in Brighton, the singer, songwriter and producer is releasing his fourth single, after a steady stream of releases in 2022.
Commenting on the track, Alfie described how the words were written during a visit home to Dorset.
Alfie said: “Most people I know have been in a situation they know they shouldn’t be in, it’s a part of growing up and a really important process in life.
“Uptight describes at least what my version of that has been like every now and then - going to a party, meeting someone and next thing you know you’re head over heels knowing full well it’s never going to happen in the long run.
“I wrote a lot of the lyrics walking by the Dorset coast with the instrumental in my headphones, maybe I walked for a little too long.”
Alfie is currently embraking on a city festival run including Liverpool Sound City, Last Time Out (Leeds) and Dot To Dot (Bristol/Nottingham) after a headline tour and string of shows supporting best-friend Sam Tompkins throughout 2022.
His new releases and shows are all part of his greater masterplan - for his initials to be tattooed on his best friend’s leg.
Alfie said: “One of my best mates from Dorset, Cam, shook my hand and said as soon as I can sell out a 1,000-capacity venue he’ll get my logo (Alfie’s initials) tattooed on his leg.
“I have video evidence and a lot of people have seen it now - he’ll stick to his word so that’s my motivation for now “Also the unforgiving yearning to make it doing what I love to do more than anything, but mostly for the tattoo.”
Alfie’s New Single ‘Uptight’ is released today, May 26 2023 and is available on all streaming platforms.
